She may have been of Cherokee blood? * On FHC ancestral files show SC, but he states on 1850 Tuscaloosa, Ala census that it is VA. Also on that census it looks as if his wife's name is Lena, need to recheck this. John is on the 1830 Tuscaloosa Co., Ala Census. In 1840 there is a John C., his son, with John on the Tuscaloosa Co. Census. In his will left in Union Co., Arkansas, he states that his wife's name is Mary.
